Artist's Bio
Sarah Churchill
Originally from Somerset I made my home in Wales many years ago, where I now live with my husband. I fell in love with the mountains, valleys, woodlands, rivers and waterfalls here. I am so inspired by my environment and enjoy experimenting with diverse subjects, including landscapes, seascapes, portraiture and animals. I especially enjoy capturing the effects of light and movement on water, particularly reflections, which I find fascinating. This is a direction I am exploring more fully, using acrylics, oils and sometimes gouache.
I am largely self taught, having brought up a family, but I have absorbed so much over the years from other artists both historically and contemporary and I am drawing upon this education to inform my work and help me develop as a painter. I am also a member of the online tisch.academy
hosted by Andrew Tischler a renowned New Zealand based artist. I have sold and exhibited my work in South Wales and have welcomed many commissions.
